  • WIFS weekly news #31: The high season is approaching

Between the winter months of December and January, accommodation in Tenerife can easily become fully booked, which means that if you haven’t booked your hotel yet, you should do it asap.

Note that the conference organizing committee succeeded in having interesting offers (ranging from 50€ to 170€). The rates in the conference hotel, a five star resort, are particularly interesting (170€ instead of 210€, or 110€ for one occupant).

You can have access to the accommodation page and download the accommodation form directly from here. Hurry up, the deadline for the booking is also approaching (November 26).

  • WIFS weekly news #30: Early birds and Low-cost birds

Do not forget the deadline for the early bird registration is next Monday, after that the fees will increase in 200$.

Here is another tip if you want to save money: there are a lot of low-cost flight companies proposing cheap flights to Tenerife South or North airports (if you have the choice between the two options, note that the South airport is much closer to the conference venue).

You’ll find the full list of the companies that serve the South Airport on this wikipedia page and the North Airport on this page.

    Few examples:

    • Easyjet have direct flights from Berlin-Schönefeld, Bristol, Edinburgh, London-Gatwick, Manchester
    • Jetairfly have direct flights from Brussels, Brussels South-Charleroi, Gran Canaria, Liege, Ostend-Bruges
    • Ryanair have direct flights from Asturias, Barcelona, Beauvais, Bergamo, Billund, Birmingham, Bologna, Bristol, Bremen, Brussels South-Charleroi, Cork, Derry, Dublin, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow-Prestwick, Hahn, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool, London-Luton, London-Stansted, Manchester, Madrid, Palermo, Pisa, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Valencia and Weeze
    • Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia have direct flights from Billund, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Orebro, Oslo-Gardermoen, Stockholm-Arlanda
    • Transavia Airlines have direct flights from Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Groningen, Maastricht, Rotterdam and Paris
    • TUIfly has direct flights from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Munich, Stuttgart, Zweibrücken, Basel/Mulhouse, Cologne/Bonn or Hamburg
Together with the conferences fees and the accommodation, it is definitely possible that your whole budget for the conference be under 1000 euros. Are you going to miss it?

The Tenerife Airport is waiting for you!

    • The equipment provided by the demonstrator
    • The equipment required at the place of the demo

The selected demonstrations will be presented during the demo session to be held in WIFS’12. At least one full registration (non-student rate) per demonstration will be required.

Abstracts for prospective demonstrations should be emailed to the industrial liaison at

The main event of the IFS community will be the perfect place to showcase your products!

  • WIFS weekly news #20: 160 papers submitted!

    Posted on by publicity_chair

The all-time record of submissions to WIFS has been broken, with 160 complete papers submitted. The organizing committee would like to thank all the authors who worked so much, even during the week-end, to submit their research work to the conference.

If you are one of these authors, you deserve a well-earned rest, and now wait until September 4th, for the notification of acceptance. Of course, we encourage you to stay tuned and learn about the latest news from WIFS by checking the websites, the RSS feeds or the social networks.

Number of submissions during the last week. If you know people that think that researchers do not work during weekends, show them this plot.

  • WIFS weekly news #17: An extra week to write great papers

    Posted on by publicity_chair

Dear author, your latex file is created, the title is set, but you have the feeling that one extra week would be nice in order to polish the paper, to run simulations on 1000 images instead of 100, or just to take time to enjoy the Euro championship.

Don’t bother anymore, we have decided to postpone the submission deadline to the first of July.

Note however, that there will be no extra extension, neither for WIFS, nor for the Euro final ;)

Submit your paper and reach the summit!

  • WIFS’12 Call for Demonstrations

    Posted on by admin

Two of the goals of WIFS is to encourage applied research on information forensics and security, and knowledge exchange among academic and industrial members of the community. In order to further contribute to these goals, WIFS’12 is pleased to announce the organization of a demonstration session, which is intended to be a meeting point for practitioners of informations forensics and security willing to show and discuss over new prototypes, products and ideas.

If you want to contribute to the demonstration session showcasing your technology, send a two-page abstract to the industrial liaison at by July 8th.

More details about submissions can be found in the call for demos.
